Taking the Matti challenge

To remind you, dear readers, the Matti challenge was: "there are a few things everyone has to do to get it over with ... in fact, i challenge you to blog your list of that sort (both checked and unchecked items apply). if you do, i shall respond."

It has proved not to be so simple. I therefore present the jury with three lists, and have limited myself to five items in each.

A. Things that I feel/felt I just have to/had to get over and done
(both checked and unchecked apply)
- The aurora borealis
- Nauru
- Sex
- Being on TV
- Psychoanalysis

B. Things that I still want to do before it's too late
(because it's not the same thing as List A, see)
- Go around the world by sea and land (but not in 80 days)
- Write a novel
- Be involved in a full-length film for cinema
- Publish a collection of my own poetry and photography
- Find that book-lined study with the leather armchair and open fireplace

C. Books on my shelf that I haven't actually read ...
(... yet; the happeningfish gambit)
- The Complete Novels, Franz Kafka
- Samurai William, Giles Milton
- Republic, Plato
- No Logo, Naomi Klein
- Death and the Maiden, Ariel Dorfman

I counter-challenge Matti and happeningfish!

I was making similar lists with a friend some weeks back and your list B is uncannily close to mine. Well, mine was four times longer, but all the things you mentioned (with some slight variations) were on it.

Guess it's time to get started!

Why do I fear that compiling similar lists would send me into a 'wanting to hide under the duvet for three days' frame of mind?

Amanda: OK, when is the first boat out of here?

Charnel: Hmm, that's pretty much what happened.

Matti: Looking forward....
