A fat man's crying on TV

Poems in the time of Corona

A fat man's crying on TV

In this, our land of liberty,
we've tuned scripted reality
where piano plays in minor key:
a fat man's crying on TV.

We've tuned scripted reality
on ABC, Fox, NBC;
whiten your teeth and check your T.
You too can dream; it's almost free

where piano plays in minor key.
It's bread and circuses for me,
feeding on flag-draped bravery,
enhanced surround sound, and HD.

A fat man's crying on TV:
Biggest, Best, Master, final three.
We watch behind home's lock and key;
this is our land of liberty.
