They're Hanging Father Christmas
(sung to the tune of 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen')
They're hanging Father Christmas for a capital offence.
His reindeer are accessories to breaking an entrance.
They caught him crawling down the chimney of a sleeping child,
And searching for stockings he defiled, he defiled.
And searching for stockings he defiled.
They're hanging Father Christmas of address: no fixed abode.
His reindeer will be sent to compounds in the Arctic cold.
They caught him asking children if they'd come under his tree,
And laughing as they sat on his knee, on his knee.
And laughing as they sat on his knee.
They're hanging Father Christmas as their policies demand.
His reindeer may escape this fate if Greenpeace makes a stand.
This kind of exploitation must be brought right to an end,
This Christmas this sinner will be cleansed, will be cleansed.
This Christmas this sinner will be cleansed.
