Between 1991 and 1993, I lived and worked in Bulgaria, and kept a diary. My intention was to publish the highlights under the title 'A Kick up the Balkans'. But in truth, the writing isn't that good.
Today, Bulgaria was accepted on the path to EU membership in 2007. It is also approximately fifteen years since I first set foot in that country. To mark this, I have decided to raid my own past and warm up some of my old experiences through this blog. Call it therapy.
For any historians out there, I will ensure the correct date and place. Potential plagiarists please note the copyright declaration at the bottom of the page.
Fear not thou, though, dear reader! Contemporary fiction and commentary will also continue.
